Custom Home Electrical

Lighting design, automation and whole-home systems for high-end residential construction.

The electrical system in a custom home is mostly invisible, and that is the point. Done well, the lighting flatters the architecture, the switches are where your hand expects them, and the technology works without announcing itself. Done poorly, you notice every day for as long as you own the house.

Custom residential scope

  • Architectural lighting design and layered lighting layouts
  • Lighting control systems and scene programming
  • Whole-home automation integration
  • Structured wiring for network, audio and video
  • EV charging with load management
  • Standby generator and automatic transfer switching
  • Landscape, pool, patio and exterior lighting
  • Home office, shop and specialty equipment circuits

Decisions worth making early

Lighting layout has to be settled before drywall, and it is the decision homeowners most often rush. We walk the framed house with you and the designer, mark fixture locations physically, and let you see the room before it is committed.

Switch location is the other one. It is a small thing that becomes a daily irritation when it is wrong, and it costs nothing to get right at rough-in.

Common questions

Do you work with our architect and designer?

Yes, and the result is better when we are brought in during design rather than after. Lighting design in particular benefits from electrical input before the reflected ceiling plan is finalized.

Can you install EV charging in a new build?

Yes, and it is far cheaper during construction than as a retrofit. We size the service to accommodate charging, run conduit to the garage location during rough-in, and can install load management so charging does not drive an unnecessary service upgrade.
