LED Lighting Retrofits
Turnkey LED conversion with rebate capture, certified recycling and verified results.
LED retrofits are the most reliable energy measure available to most commercial buildings, and also the one most frequently done badly. The failure modes are consistent: fixtures selected on price, color specified inconsistently, controls omitted, and rebates left uncaptured because nobody filed before installation.
Turnkey retrofit delivery
We manage the whole sequence so the project produces the savings the audit projected.
- Pre-retrofit audit, measurement and fixture inventory
- Product selection with photometric verification
- Rebate pre-approval filed before installation begins
- Installation scheduled around your operations
- Controls integration and commissioning
- Certified lamp, ballast and fixture recycling
- Post-installation verification and rebate closeout
- Documented savings against the pre-retrofit baseline
Where retrofits go wrong
The most expensive mistake is filing for rebates after installation. Most utility programs, Xcel Energy included, require pre-approval — install first and the incentive is simply gone. On a large retrofit that can be a substantial share of the project cost.
The second is buying on price per fixture. Cheap LED product fails early, shifts color as it ages, and produces a building where half the fixtures no longer match. Replacing it costs the labor twice.
Multi-site programs
For clients with multiple locations we run retrofits as a program rather than a series of unrelated projects: one specification, one standard, consolidated reporting, and rebate management across multiple utility territories. We have delivered these across more than 14 states.
Common questions
What payback should we expect?
Commercial LED retrofits commonly land in a one-to-three-year simple payback range after rebates, though it varies substantially with operating hours, existing technology and local rates. High-operating-hour facilities see the fastest returns. We model your specific case rather than quoting a range.
Do you handle the rebate paperwork?
Yes, start to finish — including pre-approval before installation, which is the step most often missed and the one that determines whether you get the incentive at all.
