Where we go deeper than a general electrician

We are a full-scope electrical contractor. Lighting and controls is the part we specialise in — and the part most electrical contractors subcontract or guess at.

Why it matters

LEDs cut the watts. Controls cut the hours.

Converting to LED reduces the connected load once, and that is where most lighting projects stop. Controls reduce how many hours those watts actually run — and on a typical commercial retrofit that is the larger half of the available savings.

The ranking surprises people. Task tuning, simply trimming maximum output to the level a space genuinely needs, is often the single biggest contributor and costs nothing to implement once the system is in. Occupancy control follows. Daylight harvesting is powerful at the perimeter and worthless in a windowless core, which is why blanket daylight specifications waste money.

It also means the hardware decision matters less than what happens after it is installed. A well-specified system left at factory defaults delivers a fraction of what it should — which is the condition we find most existing systems in.

Energised and left at factory defaults. The building carries the capital cost of the system while producing close to none of the savings.

Disabled by occupants

Lights cutting out during meetings, dimming too aggressively. People solve it by covering sensors or having the behaviour switched off entirely.

Drifted out of alignment

Spaces repurposed without rezoning, sensors blocked during a fit-out, schedules never updated after operating hours changed.

All three are usually recoverable through recommissioning alone — no new hardware. The equipment is already paid for; it just needs to be told what the building actually does.
